Film Festival Update!

So far, the film has been entered into the following film festivals; Berlin, Bradford, Tribeca, Houston Worldfest WA Screen Awards & recently, Sydney Film Festival. Further festivals will also be entered throughout the year, (including Brisbane, Melbourne & Adelaide,) however The process of selection takes some months so it will be a while before we hear if the submission has been a success. Unfortunately the Berlin Festival did not accept our film however they do receive around 5000 entries so selection is fierce. I'll chase up on the other entries in the near future.
Regards - Wayne Barrow

After-Shoot Party!

Dear all, the wrap party has been set for the 7th Dec and all relevant people involved will be contacted for an invite. A couple of versions of the edit will be available to view and a DVD of the shoot pictures will be given to all attending.

At this stage a more polished edit is being worked on, (with special effects,) and will be ready to submit to the Tribeca and Houston Film Festivals.

Final Cut!

Dear all, after numerous challenges that elongated the time to produce a finished edit; Stewart Hadfield and Wade Savage finished the cut by the 24th Oct. I sent authored DVD's of the film along with all submission requirements via express courier to the Berlin & Bradford Film Festivals; both arrived at their respective destinations on Fri 31st Oct.

We now have a finished edit that’s good enough for festival submissions however because of the tight deadline; it still requires work on sound levels, colour grading and adding a special effect for the ‘miracle’ scene. To this end I have advertised on the Film & Television Institute website and am contacting Universities for another editor to ‘polish’ the final cut.

The goal is to have this new cut finished by the end of this month, ready for the Tribeca Film festival in New York; being the biggest in the western world, it’s a huge deal and I want the edit to be of the highest quality.

A date for the wrap party will be announced over the next week where food, drinks and a viewing of the film will be made available however due to Film Festival regulations, I will not be able to give anybody a copy of the film until after April 2009. (Perhaps longer than this dependent on other festival rules.) To compensate for this, a DVD will be given on the day to all immediate cast and crew, containing hundreds of high quality pictures of the shoot. After April 2009, a DVD of the film will then be made available to all cast, crew and extras!

Film Festivals

After resolving an issue regarding a completion date for the edit, (for the film to make it in time for the Berlin International Film Festival,) we are now back on track with a revised date of Friday 24th October for a final edit, and the film to be authored to DVD. Based on this, the wrap party will probably be held in the second week of November, where an exclusive screening of the film will be held.
Over a two week period from that date, the film will be entered into four festivals as detailed below.
Berlin International FF - Attendance: 430000, Media Attendance: 4200, Accredited Industry Attendance: 15800 – The biggest in the World!
Bradford FF - Each year Bradford welcomes a star-studded line-up of guests including Michael Palin, Kenneth Branagh, Barry Norman, Mike Figgis and Julien Temple.
Tribeca FF - The Tribeca Film Festival was founded in 2002 by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff after the attacks on the World Trade Center to help economically and culturally revitalize Lower Manhattan through an annual celebration of film, music, and culture. Attendance: 400000, Media Attendance: 1300, Accredited Industry Attendance: 980, Total Number of Films Screened: 200.
WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival - In addition to honoring a different country each year, WorldFest will continue with its annual Short Film Showcase, a special review of 100+ new short and student films...from the festival that discovered Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Ang Lee, John Lee Hancock, Randall Kleiser, Ridley Scott, Robert Rodriguez, Robert Townsend, The Coen Brothers, Brian de Palma, Spike Lee, Oliver Stone and David Lynch with their very first awards.
